How Does Our Competency Program Work?

Step #1: Online Registration

Follow simple steps to register for your virtual competency:

  • Select the competency course from the drop-down menu below
  • Click on the REGISTER button
  • Select date and time of the competency
  • Click on “Tickets”
  • Complete checkout
  • Receive registration confirmation.
    (Upon completion of registration, you will receive a confirmation email from Eventbrite. The email confirmation will include all instructions and links necessary to complete your competency successfully.)

Note:  if your agency subscribes to our competency program, the agency will be issued a unique access code that will allow to bypass payment at the time of registration (contractual agreement is required for this feature).

Step #2: Attend your Scheduled Competency

Upon completion of registration, each participant will receive a link for on-demand lectures as well as a Zoom link to log in for a competency session on a scheduled day and time.

Note: Assure that the device that you are using to access the Zoom conference supports sound and video.

During the competency, you should expect the following:

  • On-demand lectures (review of home health documentation (OASIS, POC), patient assessment, education, skills, etc.)
  • Observation of clinical skills demonstrated by clinical instructor. Skills will include PICC line care, wound vac, point-of-care testing, etc.)
  • Written assessment/knowledge validation (exam)
  • CEU certificate
  • Instructor’s feedback and completion of competency assessment form

Note: Home Health Agency’s management will receive a copy of the CEU certificate as well as Competency Assessment form and a copy of the written exam for each attendee.

Home Health skilled nurses providing direct patient care should participate in this program. This program is developed for both, initial onboarding and annual skilled nursing competencies.
We recommend for the Agency’s administrative team (Clinical Supervisor, Clinical Educator, etc.) to complete registration for nursing competency (initial onboarding and/or annual) on behalf of your staff members. However, individual registration is also welcome for staff who is interested in refreshing or improving their skills.
We accept all credit cards for payment.
No, the contract is not required. However, if you are interested in utilizing the program long term and would like to bypass payment at registration and be invoiced once a month based on the number of participants from your particular agency, you can sign the contract with Amity Healthcare Group. If you do sign the contract, you will be issued a unique access code to manage your Agency’s participants.
To participate in the competency, you will need to have reliable internet, a device with a working camera (built-in or stand-alone) as well a working microphone, and speakers. You will also be prompted to download Zoom to your device if you have not done so before.
Yes, the program is accessible from any location with access to the internet.
Yes, Amity Healthcare Group awards CEUs for the competency session.
Yes, you will be able to interact with your instructor and ask questions during the competency session.
If your written exam score is below 80%, our Clinical Instructor will reach out to you individually, via your email, after the session is complete for additional debriefing and feedback.

Outsource your nursing competency to Amity Healthcare Group, LLC!

Amity Healthcare Group will conduct initial onboarding and/or annual Skilled Nursing competency for your organization and will assist you with achieving regulatory compliance with competency requirements. Competencies will be conducted in conformance with CMS requirements, as well as state and accrediting organizations’ guidelines.

The competency will be based on the care/services provided by skilled nurses (RNs, LPNs) and will include direct observation of skills in a skill lab setting, validation of skills, lectures, situational analysis/case studies, and knowledge-based written and/or oral examination. The competency will be provided by a qualified instructor (RN) in collaboration with other professionals, as may be appropriate. Amity Healthcare Group is offering individual and group competencies.

Upon completion of the competency, your agency will receive a copy of the certificate of completion, written exam, and skills assessment for each skilled nurse who attended the competency. An additional report including a summary of all activities associated with the competency process and recommendations based on observations and interaction with personnel will be available to the agencies participating in group competencies.
