CDC Update to Interim Infection Prevention and Control Recommendations for Healthcare Personnel During the Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) Pandemic
On February 10, 2021, CDC issued updates to interim infection prevention and control recommendations for HCP during the COVID-19 pandemic.
As a part of the update, CDC:
- Updated the Implement Universal Use of Personal Protective Equipment section to expand options for source control and patient care activities in areas of moderate to substantial transmission and describe strategies for improving the fit of facemasks.
- Included a reference to Optimizing Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) Supplies that include a hierarchy of strategies to implement when PPE is in short supply or unavailable.

Advance Beneficiary Notice of Noncoverage (ABN), Form CMS-R-131,
If you have not done so as of yet, just a quick reminder to start using the renewed ABN, Form CMS-R-131 (exp. 6/30/2023). The renewed ABN was mandatory for use as of 1/1/2021.
