In compliance with Texas Administrative Code (TAC), Title 26, Part 1, Chapter 558, the Initial Educational Training in the Administration of Agencies and annual continuing education are mandated to ensure that Administrators/Managers meet the following requirements:

Initial Training Requirements:
First-Time Administrators and Alternate Administrators (designated after Dec. 1, 2006):

1. • Must complete 24 clock hours of educational training in the administration of an agency within the first 12 months after designation.
2. Prior to Designation:
   • Must complete eight clock hours of educational training in the administration of an agency within the 12 months immediately preceding the designation.
3. After Designation:
   • Must complete an additional 16 clock hours of educational training within the first 12 months after designation. These additional hours can be completed prior to designation if done within the 12 months immediately preceding the designation.

Continuing Education Requirements:

After completing the initial 24 hours of educational training, administrators and alternate administrators must fulfill the continuing education requirements as specified in §558.260 of the TAC in each subsequent 12-month period after designation.
